Young Adult Weekly Update - August 1, 2013
Hope your summer is going well, and that you take the time to enjoy the remaining few weeks of it! We are excited about all that God is doing here at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, and I plan to get in the habit of sending out an email like this on a weekly basis, to keep you in the know about what is going on with the Young Adult Ministry at Ridgecrest.
-This Sunday (August 4) we will meet for our small group at 9am, in room B2 at Remingtons (1655 W Republic Rd, Springfield, MO 65807). This week, we will be studying Mark 5:21-43, and discussing how Jesus' ministry and mission was unhurried. Hope you can plan to be there!
-On Thursday, August 15, we will be serving at International Day, which is an incredible opportunity to welcome international students from all over the world to the Ozarks. If you would like to serve at this event, click HERE.
-Sunday, August 18, we will have the Bilyeu Family Concert here at Ridgecrest. There will be no small groups that day, and it is a great opportunity to invite people to church.
-Sunday, August 25 we will be having a kick-off to the new school year by having a nice, hot breakfast during our small group time.
If you want to know more about Young Adults at Ridgecrest, find us on Facebook, Twitter, or the web.

Game Night!
3 Things to know...
First, we will be having a game night this Friday, at Ridgecrest, in The Ridgecrest Room. There is a door on the backside of the building that goes directly into the Ridgecrest Room that will be open. Details are as follows:
Time: 6-10pm -ish
Cost: $3 if you have it
Food: Mexican (Nachos/Tacos)
Bring: A friend, and any group or board games you enjoy.
RSVP: Please respond and let me know if you will be there so we can plan for food - thx
Second, there will be no Young Adult Small Group this week because we will be having two Easter Services at Remington's.
Third, we will be baptizing in the 10:30 service this Sunday. If you need to take that step in your walk with Christ, or if you know someone who does, be there with a towel and a change of clothes! Very Exciting!
- Let me know if you have any questions...see you Friday!

Chicago Mission Trip Day 7
We had a great final day here in Chicago. We spent the morning finishing our work at the school, and had a great time with the kids and the school administration. They were a blessing to us, and it was great to be able to serve them.
We spent some time debriefing this afternoon, then we got to have the chance to have a hip hop concert at the church. We had a ton of fun with a ton of new friends!
We head back home in the morning...pray for safety and smooth travels!

Chicago mission trip day 6
Once again, we had a great day here in Chicago. We spent the morning at our elementary school, and had a great time working and playing with kids. Those of us working in the library were able to spend a lot of time with kids today, playing, reading, eating lunch, and helping with homework. Many of the kids have rough home lives and difficult circumstances, and our prayer is that we are able to be the light of Christ to them.
This afternoon, we spent a couple of hours riding the "L" (elevated train). Our purpose was simple...ride the train and engage people in conversation. Many on our time had very good conversations with people, and were even able to share Christ.
This evening, we enjoying hearing from the pastor of the church we are working with. He is an incredible speaker, challenging and calling us to a life lived fully loving Jesus and loving people.
Everyone is doing well! Pray for another great day tomorrow, and for God to be at work around us!

Chicago Mission Trip day 5
Well, we had a great Wednesday here in the Windy City. This morning, we spent time at the elementary school again, continuing our work in the messy library.
This afternoon, we did something called "mealshare," where we went downtown with an extra lunch, and looked for homeless to share our lunch with. The team had a great time sharing lunch and stories with some great people.
This evening, we had some time off to enjoy the city and see the sights. We had a ton of fun, and some great cheesecake!
