New York City Mission Trip Day 7
Today was our final day here in NYC. We had a very busy day, as we spent time sharing with the missionaries about the conversations we had, and people we had encountered. Then, we spent the rest of the day traveling all over the city, following up with some of the people we had shared the Gosepl with. It was a good day, and we are continuing to pray for those we have encountered.
Pray for:
-the seeds that were planted this week to take root and grow
-for God to use the Jesus Film DVD's and other resources to speak to peoples hearts
-for fruitful continued follow up to be done the missionaries
-for safe travels as we make our way home tomorrow
Thank you so much for all of your prayers this week. We know that we are not alone!

New York City is Like Heaven: Mission Trip Day 6
In a lot of ways, New York City is liek heaven...filled with people from every language, tribe, and tongue! It continues to amaze us to meet so many people from so many different places. It is amazing to think that heaven will be filled with people from every nation and tongue, worshipping the Savior.
We spent the day in the Bronx, prayer walking, and sharing the Gospel with people. We met a handful of African believers today, which is so encouraging. We were able to encourage them to be a light in their community, and continue in their walk with the Lord. We also had the opportunity to share Jesus with many people, as well as given them scripture in their language.
Prayer:
-tomorrow is our last full day here in New York. We will have a wrap up time with the missionaries, and finalize some different parts of our ministry here.
-pray for us to be sensitive to the Lord's leading on our final day.
-pray for God's presence to fill us and go before us

New York City Mission Trip Day 5
With another long day of ministry behind us, we are trusting that God is at work in ways that we cannot see. Today we set up a table in a couple of different spots, with CD's and DVD's containing the Gospel message. We were able to speak with many people. We are seeing more and more the power that Islam holds among these people, and we are praying that God's Spirit will work on these men and women's hearts. We also had many good conversations with people, and know that God's Word is being planted in many hearts.
Pray for:
-God's Word to begin to take root in the hearts of the men and women we have been speaking with.
-Tomorrow we will head to the Bronx to speak with people, so pray for God to prepare the way for our time there
-Pray for opportunities to follow up with some of the people we have already talked with.
-contiuned rest and energy for the team

New York City Mission Trip Day 4
Day 4 here in New York was another great day. We were able to spend a couple of hours in the morning seeing New York from some different persepctives, as well as seeing the 9/11 Memorial. It is a moving experience to view the memorial, and think about how the events of 9/11 have changed this city, as well as the world. Throughout the day, we encountered many West Africans, and we were able to share the Gospel with them and give them a DVD of the Jesus Film in their own language. This afternoon, in Harlem, we spoke with many people, sharing the Gospel with them. Many people were open, yet we also experienced some who had no willingness to speak to us about spiritual matters. Many of the people we have spoken with are Muslim, and while they are very friendly and nice to talk to, they are also opposed to the idea that Jesus is the Son of God, who has come, died for our sins, and rose again. As we speak with people, we are praying that God will work in their hearts in the way that only He can.
Prayer:
-pray for energy for the team members. It can be draining to spend all day walking and interacting with people.
-pray for direction each day, and for hearts to be softened and ready to hear the gospel
-pray for God to continue to empower and bless the churches here in NYC to be the light of the world, sharing Christ with their community.
-pray for the missionaries we are working with, that God would continue to bless their ministry and encourage and strengthen them.
Thanks for your prayers!

New York City Mission Trip Day 3
Today was a great day for our team here in New York. This morning, we prayed together, and sought the Lord about where we were to go today. We all felt led to go to Brooklyn, to share the Gospel and prayerwalk. One of the team members had a sense that we needed to go to Brooklyn, and that there was a named named Mamadou that we needed to speak to. When we arrived, we prayerwalked for about 10 minutes. The first West African man we spoke to was named Mamadou. We were able to share the Gospel with Him, and give him a DVD of the Jesus Film in his own language. It is amazing to see how God leads us! Throughout the day, we had many opportunities to speak with people, and share the Gospel with them.
Here are a few prayer points:
-pray for the people we spoke with today, that God would continue to speak to them and reveal Himself to them through the resources we were able to give them.
-pray that we will have clear direction for where to go tomorrow
-pray for continued open doors to share the Gospel
-pray for each team member to have boldness, and to be equipped to engage in spiritual conversations with people
Thanks for your prayers!

New York City Mission Trip Day 2
Day 2 in NYC was a great day. This morning, we attended a French speaking church service. It was so great to worship alongside people of different nations and ethnicites. Then we spent a few hours with the missionaries, learning about what they do, and getting our assignments for the week. It was great to spend time with them and get to know them. Later, we spent a while prayer walking and becoming familiar with where we will be working this week. This evening, we attended a church service at Hillsong NYC. It was a great time of worship and hearing from God's Word. Challenging stuff! It is awesome to see churches here in the city that are so passionate and full of life, desiring to be the light of the world.
Here are a few prayer points...
-our ministry time will be in full swing tomorrow, so pray that God will give us wisdom and direction each day with where to go and who to talk to.
-pray that each team member will have boldness and passion to share the Gospel
-pray for rest everyday, as it can be tiring being out and about all day.
-pray for the hearts of the people we encounter to be soft and ready to hear!

New York City Mission Trip Day 1
The team has arrived safely in NYC. We are settled in to the place we are staying, and ready for a good nights rest. We will attend church tomorrow morning, and then begin ministry after that.
Here are a few things you can be praying for:
-rest from traveling
-that there would not be distractions that come against the team
-that God would prepare our hearts for the ministry
-that God would open doors for divine appointments
-safety and protection as we move about the city
Thank you for your prayers! We are excited about all that God is going to do!

NYC Spring Break Mission Team
We are so excited about our spring break mission trip to New York City! We leave in a few days, and we are praying for God to do great things in and through this team. We will spend the majority of our time sharing the gospel with people who have moved to NYC from Africa. Our desire is to build relationships that will allow us to share the good news of Jesus. We will be working with missionaries who live there in the city, and we are excited about the opportunity to serve them in their ministry. Please be in prayer for this team of 6, as we seek to see God glorified in NYC.
During the trip, you can check here for daily trip updates and ways that you can be praying for the team. Thanks for joining with this team in prayer!
